The quintessential postcard of summer
There is something about summer and postcards that make a perfect pairing.
Of course, sending a postcard any time of year works too, but as we begin to gradually bid farewell to summer, let’s take this opportunity to go on a postcard sending binge!
What summer should be
Take these beauties I found the other day, at the Canmore Mountain Market, they are all about what summer should be.
I didn’t meet the artist, but instead I spoke with her sweet mother who was manning the booth. Opal Retzer is a young gal with lots of creativity bursting through her work.
Last days of summer correspondence
I just loved her postcards and snatched up a few of my favorites. It makes my day when I stumble upon postcards in unexpected places, you just never know what new talent or inspiration you may find.
These are the last dog days of summer. How will you choose to spend them?
Eva
Love these!
I’ve been away for a while. Have you changed the design of the blog? I think it looks better now.
Barb
Hey there Eva, welcome back! Hope you were on an adventure. Yes, I did change the design on the blog, a design wizard helped me with the logo. Glad you like it. 🙂
glenda
I LOVE these postcards! whimsical, summery…
Barb
Completely! I loved them too Glenda. Glad you enjoyed them.

What a great ‘au revoir’ to summer! I’m going to send a postcard to each person who ‘liked’ my recent FB post that showed my day’s outgoing mail. There were 4 or 5 commenters and they’re going to get a card! Makes me happy just saying that! I work at a university and with the end of summer comes all the excitement (and some sadness) of students being delivered to begin what may be one of the best experiences of their lives. Ironically, I’m working from home to make room on campus for all the cars delivering those students!
Barb
What a great idea Melanie, sending all those who commented a postcard! No doubt, you will be in the midst of Back To School excitement/anxiety, perhaps dreaming of BTS supplies? 🙂 Enjoy the home office.
Sydney
Happy day Barb!
I sure are kindred spirits with the lost art of writing…postcards, cards…it sets my heart ablaze to give this way.
I will spend my last days of summer giving mini encouragement cards hand to heart…smiles!
Barb
What a lot of encouragement you will be giving Sydney! A great way to spend your last days of summer. Do enjoy the joy it gives. Thanks for stopping in for a chat.
