Win their heart with special Valentine’s Day cancel stamps
Last year I was giddy with excitement to discover you can send a piece of mail to your crush and win their heart with special Valentine’s Day cancel stamps (the post mark that defaces the stamp to prevent its reuse).
You can get your mail stamped with these special cancel stamps from Canadian towns that have names of a romantic nature including Saint-Valentin,Quebec or Love, Saskatchewan. I opted for Hearts Content, Newfoundland.
How do I get my Valentine stamped with special postmark?
- Allow for extra time. Send it now. Your mail has to travel not only to the town with romantic name to get stamped, but then it has to travel from there to wherever your crush lives.
- Send two envelopes; one inside the other. Address on outer envelope should be to the Post Office you want to postmark from. Inside this envelope is the letter/card you want sent your special someone (be sure to have affixed proper postage on both).
- The Postmistress/master will open first envelope, apply cancel stamp to second envelope and send it on its way.
- Be ready for ‘wow’ factor from your sweetie-pie and maybe, just maybe, an invite to dinner.

This is amazing! Thanks for sharing this special opportunity! Do you think they’d send mail to the USA as well? I’m guessing if the inner envelope had Canadian postage worth $1.20, it should be ok.

Hi there Holly, Thanks for visiting.I don’t know for sure, but I’m guessing that providing if the postage on inner envelope is correct ($1.20 from Can to USA) it would be mailed to wherever. Let me know how it works out, would love to know. Happy early Valentine’s Day to you.
Holly
Thanks! I’ve decided to try with a letter going to Canada this time but I may experiment with US addresses if this works out! Happy Valentine’s Day to you as well!
