What was in my mailbox this week. No.10.
The mail has been coming in thick and furious these days…just the way I like it. As per my habit, I will give you a behind-the-scenes peek in this latest installment in my mailbox series.
Abigail is but 14 years old and already a typewriter enthusiast, not to mention prolific letter writer. Don’t you love the colour of that typewriter ribbon? I’ll write you back soon, Abigail.
Stationery makes me believe Spring is coming
Nicki, from the United Kingdom, is no doubt a ‘kindred spirit’ as she describes herself as a stationery addict (I feel your pain, my friend). Her good taste in paper products has given me a much needed dose of Springtime vibes. Thank goodness, given that it’s snowing outside my window as I write this.
Foreign postage stamps delight
During the last Book Lover Postcard Swap I was matched with Katerina from Russia. I am swooning over these postage stamps. Not to mention her ability to write in a beautiful cursive on vellum paper. Thank you Katerina.
“The best way to bring people close…”
The photography found at North51Degrees is a breathtaking visual journey of one man traveling across Canada. I received this postcard from Mitch who is the talented photographer behind the wheel (and the camera) of this project.
The photo on my postcard is taken somewhere in Manitoba. I heard a rumor that a book about his trip is in the works, so be sure to follow him on Instagram.
“…put down the phone and pick up the pen.”
The gorgeous card below was sent to me by Graeme Connell. His wife, Lois, is the talented artist behind this beautiful image. Graeme is an accomplished journalist and published author as well.
To receive mail you must send mail
When was the last time you received a letter in the mail?
When was the last time you wrote a letter?
Why not give it a go. After all, April is National Letter Writing month. Here are seven ideas of how you can put pen to paper this month. Enjoy.

Thanks for sharing photos of these love cards! I love Abigail’s typewritten note and washi tape. The Russian stamps, the UK stationary, the awesome quote from your fellow-Canadian – it was as if I’d opened my mailbox to these treats myself!
Busily preparing for my Letter Writing Social this week – I’m putting together surprise grab bags for each guest with little items like stickers and mini-envelopes to make sending letters even more fun!
