For those of you just getting to know me, I love the wrapping part of gift giving. It isn’t so much about the gift itself as how it is wrapped up.
Of course, the gift itself does have to be “just right” for the person on the receiving end, but I do think it is about the whole package and I love to find interesting and creative ways to wrap up a gift — click here for some ideas on my Tips and Ideas page for unique approaches to wrapping. Take for instance these beautiful papers, above, by Canadian studio, Kate & Birdie, based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The choice of colours and motifs are stunning. I can’t decide which one is my favorite!
And, I am sure you would agree, that the folks over at Smockpaper hit upon something brilliant when they designed this reversable wrapping paper. In particular I love this brown/blue combination but their designs cover the spectrum from modern to more traditional.
And, coming full circle in my search for wrapping paper I thought you might like, I have ended back at Kate & Birdie. Just couldn’t stay away. Can’t you just see the paper with the baby pram framed and put in the nursery? I think that would be magical.
Some times wrapping paper is just too beautiful to be torn carelessly open and tossed aside. With that in mind here are some ideas for what else you can do with wrapping paper:
1) book covers
2) wrap up a bouquet of flowers
3) frame it
4) turn it into place mats with the help of a lamination machine
5) cutting up Christmas wrap into strips and making a paper chain makes awesome Christmas tree garland
P.S. Please know that I am not being endorsed or receiving any compensation for writing this post. I simply love this stuff and thought you might too. Hope you enjoy.

Wow! that is some pretty pretty wrapping paper. Ask anyone- I am a terrible gift wrapper. I make my husband do it- otherwise our presents look like a 3 year old did it. But I love your ideas for how to use the wrapping paper, that is excellent.

Hey there momma who is relaxing (great name by the way), thanks for taking the time for a visit. I know, the beauty of that paper is almost too pretty to use, let alone crinkle up and tape. Lucky you to have a husband who wraps! Hope you can try some of those alternative ideas – less tricky corners perhaps?!
Michelle
I love your ideas! I am the world’s worst wrapper…my husband is in charge of all gift wrapping! But you can do so many other things with it too…thanks for sharing those ideas with us! So glad you linked up with us at LOBS!

Hey there Michelle, I think you have come up with the best wrapping idea yet – a husband who is in charge of the gift wrapping! 🙂

I wish I took wrapping more seriously. I’m all about gift bags and simplicity. I do try to put thought and care into a handwritten note inside the card. 🙂 Thanks for sharing at our Ladies Only Blog Share link party!

Hey there Crystal, I love gift bags too, and you are right, they are so easy. No silly corners to contend with or tape getting mucked up, plus so easy to reuse. Its the beauty of the whole package no matter how it is wrapped for that special person. Thanks for stopping by and for hosting Ladies Only Blog Share link party.
