The good kind
These paper cuts are stunning. No sharp slice of the finger here. I stumbled upon these cards and their creator, Fay, in November 2013 at the Art Market Craft Sale. From Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Fay crafts and cuts each card. Judging by the line-up at her booth I was not the only one to be completely taken with her artistry.
Scissor Hands
You can find these cards online at HanHanShop. Clearly Fay has a bit of an Edward Scissorhands way with the scissors. The prices of her cards are incredible. In fact, I think she should be charging more. This lovely Birthday card is going in the mail tomorrow to my niece.
Popping Up Roses
This rose tree (my nickname) isn’t going anywhere. I have the card opened up creating the illusion that the tree itself sprouts from nowhere. It sits on my book shelf like a sculpture or piece of art. It has a little Valentine’s Day vibe too, I think.
The muted colours of this adorable bike and tree trunk really highlight the texture of the paper. You can almost hear the birdie calling out for Spring time. Not sure who will be on the receiving end of this beauty, but no doubt it will bring someone delight.
Here are two ideas for Valentine’s Day that involve cutting paper:
1)Paper Heart Wall Art.
2)A paper cut map of the city you first met your true love in.
Stay tuned on the blog for other paper related beauties for Valentine’s Day coming soon.
In the meantime, do you or your kids send out paper Valentine’s?

How beautiful and intricate! Fay’s talent is amazing. I often look at these types of creations and wonder just how the artist’s mind must work to see just how pieces will work together to create such beautiful art in the end. Thanks so much for sharing this on Tell Me About It Tuesday. Looking forward to seeing what you share tomorrow!

I was blown away by Fay’s talent too Lilah. I just couldn’t believe the level of detail and patience it must take to cut such art. See you tomorrow. 🙂

People were going crazy buying her cards! The pictures of her cards on the website don’t do justice to her cards, they are far more stunning in person. Thanks for taking the time to leave me a little ‘hello.’
