We flip a page this week on our calendars and begin one of my favorite months.
October just has so much going for it; leaves, sweaters, apples, pumpkin anything. And of course, we Canadians start to get gussied up for our Thanksgiving. I put a few Fall mums by my door already, but wouldn’t you know it, frost hit and they are look’n pretty sad. But, hey, I’m thankful there isn’t snow!
October is a month to give thanks
I have so much to be thankful for really, and I bet you do too. A fellow Canadian blogger, Colleen over at Lemon Thistle, knowing how much I love sending snail mail, invited me to join her on a challenge for the month of October.
#Thankfulmail
The whole idea is that you send someone you are thankful for a piece of snail mail each week in October. Depending on how you want to roll, that is only 4 or 5 pieces of snail mail. Or just do what you can, the point is to let someone know you are thankful for them, not to feel guilty about only getting 1 card in the mail.
Then, for those of you on social media, you can use the hash-tag #thankfulmail to show your outgoing mail. I can’t wait to get started! To make this easy Colleen and pal Mandee ( Designs By Miss Mandee) have put together some adorable free printables you can use.
Enjoy, and thanks Colleen, for the reminder that Thanksgiving is more than just turkey and mashed potatoes.
Who are you thankful for?
Here’s a list of people that you might be thankful for but haven’t really thought about:
1. The barista at your local Starbucks.
2. Coach Amy of your kids hockey team.
3. Or perhaps your neighbor who put out your garbage while you were on vacation.
4. Teachers.
5. Your childhood best friend.
6. A cousin your rarely see.
Will you take up the #Thankfulmail challenge? Who will receive the first letter?
Patrick

So glad you are joining in on the snail mail fun this October Patrick. Thanks for sharing it too out there in the Twitter world. Hopefully others will give it a try and see how a handwritten letter or card can make someone’s day just a little bit brighter. Thanks for visiting and taking the time to say ‘hi.’
