Spread some merry this Christmas with a free postcard
Yes, you read that right. I’ve been waiting, like a kid for Christmas morning, to tell you about an exciting project here at www.ritewhileucan.com
In the belief that sending and receiving something handwritten in the mail is extra special in this digital age, I’ve partnered with a very creative graphic design friend to create our very own postcard to give away for free!
I know, call us crazy, but that’s just what we did. And, that’s not all. We paid for all the stamps too.
Come back to the blog and share where the postcard ended up
To break it down, this postcard is available at two local locations.* One at a café in Calgary and the other at a bookstore in Canmore. As you order your coffee or buy your book you are free to take a postcard and mail it wherever. Postage is provided to anywhere in North America and a few have international stamps.
The idea is that you, as the sender or the receiver, come back to the blog and tell your story about where the postcard ended up and/or share a ‘card-selfie.’ For those of you without teenagers in your home, a ‘card selfie’ is my version of the popular ‘selfie’ which is when people take a picture of themselves. As an added bonus, for anyone who shares their story on the blog about their postcard, their name will be entered into a draw for a prize.
For lots more info, and how to share your postcard story, click here.
* Please note, because this is a pilot project, and ultimately I am looking for a sponsor to financially support it, I am starting local first. However, if you love this idea (and I hope you do) get in touch with me, I will send you out a postcard.
If you really, really love it (and I hope you do) please share via email and on your Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram and wherever else you hang your social media hat.
Where will you send this postcard? Please share your story here
P.S. I can’t wait to see how creative you get with your card-selfie.

I sent my postcard to my cousin Debbie who lives in Massachusetts. I have only “met” her two or three times. When my grandmother passed away this fall, all of my family on my mother’s side, including Debbie, came together in Montreal. A sad occasion, but also a blessed one because it was a reunion of sorts. I wanted to keep the lines of communication going, so I sent my cousin the postcard. This project is a great idea!

Glenda! How thrilled I am to hear of your story. Thanks for sharing it. This is what ‘Project Postcard’ is all about; connecting, remembering with meaning, making a difference.
