Back to school with Little Blue Canoe
Shoot me now. I’m about to talk back-to-school. Although there are oodles of days left in summer, I wanted you to be the first to get the scoop on what Little Blue Canoe is offering before the rush.
I mean when you’ve got this sweet lined paper pencil case how can you not put aside the sunscreen for just a sec?
Lattes and dreams
For this mama it is a special back-to-school year. I’ve got one of my littles headed off to university, leaving home and flying many miles away, starting that adventure called life. So, it is with her in mind, an older student, that I have chosen my favorites from Little Blue Canoe.
Kelly, a girl running after her own dreams, launched LBC in the summer of 2015 after spending 15 years in the oil and gas industry. Things are flourishing one year later.
Curating Canada
With over 75 Canadian vendors represented on LBC, Kelly is the curator of unique, beautiful products all designed by Canadians like this printed ruler tape (similar to washi tape). If I was a teacher, I would have a drawer full of the stuff.
Of course I gravitated to the Stationery and Fun collection, but there is so much more. From apparel for both adults and kids, to home decor, to Kelly’s latest launch, the happiest collection, there is something to delight everyone.
Jumbo reading
No doubt back-to-school with Little Blue Canoe means lots of reading. Although not a coffee drinker yet, my daughter may find that university changes that. These adorable magnetic bookmarks mean reading is getting serious given the bookmark is JUMBO size! Love it.
Kelly, as you will see from her on-line shop, is a lover of writing letters, cards and stationery. You will love her story about writing to her Grandma as a kid and how she has kept every single one of the letters her Grandma sent to her.
Back-to-school shop Canadian style
And of course, with a mom like me, the new post-secondary student can expect to receive mail from me. I picked up some of these sweet mailing labels from LBC and I can’t wait to use them. I wonder if she will write me back?
So, I apologize for interrupting your summer time fun, but it doesn’t hurt to have a sneak-peak at some delightful school supplies ’cause once you’ve got the back-to-school shopping done, you can truly relax on the deck in the sunshine and your flipflops.
Did you start drinking coffee (or other caffeine laced drink) in University?
Kelly B.
Thank you so much for featuring LBC, Barb! I love that you love putting “pen to paper” as much as I do. Wishing you a warm and relaxing rest of your summer!
xx Kelly
Barb
My complete pleasure Kelly. Love what you do! Looking forward to keeping in touch over our love of all things paper…and Canada!
Elaine
Barb, thanks for the link; I just placed an order!
My coffee drinking started on the job! I was still pretty much a soda/pop girl otherwise. I can’t remember the last soda I drank. Coffee – hot or iced and tea for me in my old age 😉 Lots of water, too.
Barb
Hi there Elaine, Ah yes, the job can be the first intro to coffee! I forgot about that. As you know, I am a tea gal myself, never having picked up the love of coffee. Glad you enjoyed LittleBlueCanoe.
Annette
Hi – love the items shown…especially the coffee cup. I will have to check out the shop. I actually did start drinking coffee at college. I went to a small community college to do Computer Science and the computer lab only had so many computers in “those days” – lol. So we hung out all day/night to finish projects all the time and coffee became a mainstay. I love back-to-school shopping. I don’t need to do it any longer, but I love find some good deals on things I can use for crafting 🙂
Barb
I love back-to-school shopping too Annette, and I don’t even go to school. 🙂 The all-nighter’s and coffee seemed to be a college tradition didn’t it?! So happy those days are past, I love my sleep way too much.
