Book a private Letter Writing Social
This week I was invited to a beautiful acreage just west of Calgary owned by photographer Roz Edge Kossowan to host a private Letter Writing Social. Roz brought together a bunch of her girl friends and I brought the typewriters.
Girls night out
It was a perfect girls night out with special friends, delicious food, all set in a most beautiful location. The room was alive with chatter, punctuated with the zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzip…ding of the typewriters.
a private Letter Writing Social would be perfect for Book Clubs, Bridal Parties
If you are in Calgary and want to book a private Letter Writing Social get in touch. What a cool and unique idea for your bridal party or your book club.
I require a minimum of eight people and depending on location the price per person ranges between $15-25.
Home school activity or a writers group
Typewriters never fail to fascinate and charm people, kids included. I think of it as a ‘hook’ to get them interested in letter writing. Crafty, aren’t I?
And for the writers in the audience, banging away on a typewriter may get you to the next chapter that you’ve been stuck on for months.
What do you think? Interested?

I have been writing letters since I could write! I write to people who don’t write back, and I’m now searching for pen pals. I love stationery, paper, pens, cards, etc. I tear off interesting stamps to use in my creations. I have just started finding websites of other like-minded people and came across your blog. I’ve linked to it on my blog, http://thekinection3.blogspot.com. It is called “Can We Talk?” I’m worried that the physical act of writing is going to become obsolete and it should not be! Write on!!

Hi there Nancy, Welcome to ritewhileucan! So glad you found me (and more letter writing fans). You may have seen it already, but there is a tab on my home page called “Snail Mail Exchanges” that may point you in the direction of finding pen pals. The more letters that get written the better the world will be. I really believe this. Thanks for linking my page on your website, sure do appreciate it. Wishing you a mailbox full of ‘real mail.’ 🙂
Chrissy
What a great story. I think typewriters take away some of the fear of writing.
Thanks for the inspiration.

Hi Chrissy, You make a good point about typewriters removing some intimidation of writing. I never thought about this before. You are pretty inspiring yourself.

Barb, I’ve read that Meghan Markle, the beautiful new Duchess of Sussex, once did calligraphy as a side gig? They say her handwriting is beautiful.

Denise, this tidbit of info intrigues me. I must sleuth it out. Thanks for letting me know.
