Pencil shavings become art
I am continually amazed at the talented people out there. Case in point is my new friend Gene, based in France, who takes pencil shavings and turns them into fabulous art. Talk about crazy cool!
Turning trash into something new
I normally don’t give pencil shavings a second thought, except for the mess they make, all that smudged lead everywhere. Thank goodness Gene feels differently. You can see more of her work over at Crayons Creation.
The discovery of something, originally used for another purpose and turned into something else entirely, is a delight for most of us. Something like finding unexpected money in a coat pocket.
Make your own cards with pencil shavings
I think that instead of throwing out our pencil shavings we should use them and try our hand at making homemade Christmas cards; if only I had half the talent as Gene!

Do you use a pencil? Or perhaps you prefer a pen?
The Wellness Wife
I’ve never seen such a thing. So creative! There is a local artist here who uses dryer lint. People are so talented.
Barb
Hi there Lisa, Isn’t Gene totally creative?! I had never even thought about such possibilities for pencil shavings. Makes me think of garbage in a whole new way. Thanks for popping in and saying ‘hi.’
