Can you believe this? Me neither. I have spent much time looking at this piece of art out of egg cartons by Enno de Kroon who describes his style of art as “Eggcubism.” Still can’t get over it. Inspires me to think beyond the eggs and bacon at breakfast time.
I love when I get questions from readers. I always try my best to find what you are looking for. A recent query tested my sleuthing skills. The results I just had to share in today’s post.
A reader’s young son recently became the proud owner of some chickens. He calls them ‘the ladies.’ How cute is that. This enterprising 10 year old has grand plans for the ladies. And, perhaps, grand plans for ways to spend the money the eggs bring in. So, his mom, another paper aficionado like myself, contacted me asking if I had come across any alternatives to the normal, hum drum basic egg carton.
I think we could all agree that Mr. Kroon’s creations are far from hum drum!
There are quite a few different alternatives out there. Here are some of my favorites:
1. Egg Box found at behance.net
2. Brown Eggs Packaging at webdesignpackaging
3. Daily Eggs from Kahaekim
Realistically, purchasing these may not be an option, but you can create some very fun labels of your very own to slap on the regular type of cartons. Have fun!
Have you seen any cool paper packaging lately? I would love to see it.

Those cartons are really neat. I’d love to have some for our eggs from our chickens and guineas!
PS – Thanks for visiting my blog and commenting!

Hi Tammy, thanks for coming on over for a looksee. Those cartons would be fantastic for your chickens and guineas. I especially love the handled ones. Enjoy.

I love all those packages (I love cool packaging) and the artwork is amazing! Egg carton art – who would have ever thought?! Clearly not me!
Barb
I love cool packaging too! I thought the egg cartons with the handles were really clever. And, of course, the egg carton art is crazy beautiful! Thanks for stopping in Michelle. Have a lovely day.

I love to see clever packaging (even if it sometimes is less than “green”). My favorite of the egg cartons is the daily egg. I’m always afraid of knocking eggs out of the carton. This design would limit the damage I could do in one fell swoop!
Barb
Hey there Mo, I was thinking about the lack of ‘green’ in so much packaging. I guess the best green option for eggs would be a basket…but then you would need to be friends with a chicken farmer! I loved the handle option too. I just haven’t seen it in my local grocery store. Have a great weekend.
