paper notes and spit balls
So, in honor of Back To School this week (at least in my corner of the world) I thought I would share a couple of things that I always loved when I was in school.
First up, this 4 peaked folded paper thing, which I learned as an adult was called a Cootie Catcher. Great name, I have to say. And way more fun then a boring old, crumpled up note passed along a row of desks.
I wasn’t sure I would remember how to make one, but sure enough, like riding a bike, it all came back in a flash.
I always liked lifting the fold of paper to see what fate awaited me; like marrying the boy two rows over who kept launching spit balls in my direction!

mistakes + erasers = learning
Then, we have have the classic eraser, the ever steady school supply that never changes. I was inspired by wrapping paper Jordan from Oh Happy Day created, modeled after the classic Pink Pearl PaperMate eraser.
I just picked up these beauties from the dollar store (the only place I could find the erasers with no writing on them) and used a fine tipped Sharpie marker and off I went.
It was fun, quick and easy. Not to mention practical. Notice I made one for myself. I make lots of mistakes! Smile.
What memories do you have of your school days?
