Get ready, get set, go…National Letter Writing Month
It’s April! Such delights this month brings. Along with sure signs of Spring, it is also National Letter Writing Month.
So while you search for the first sighting of a robin, consider putting pen to paper and writing a wee note, a postcard, or a letter to someone you know. Keep reading for some super fun, easy ways to send a few letters this month.
You may be joining in on the fun #write_on campaign started by the generous folks over at Hello Lucky and Egg Press that encourages writing a letter each day for the month of April.
I certainly will be participating (more on my efforts later in the month), but let me clarify, I will attempt to pen a letter a day. But, if your life is anything like mine, thirty days of writing letters can seem pretty daunting.
Get ready, get set , go…National Letter Writing Month
Here are 5 easy ways to participate in National Handwriting Month:
- Scrap the notion that it has to be all thirty days. Why not try one a week? Or even just one letter in April. It might be one more than you wrote last month.
- You don’t need to write reams and reams of pages. Pick up a few postcards from the dollar store. You may find yourself wishing for more space.
- Consider adding it on to something you already do. Maybe it becomes part of the morning coffee routine, or if you keep a journal you could do it then. Maybe when it’s homework time for the kids, you write a card to someone (better yet, get the kids to write it for you).
- The note you write could focus on thanking someone, encouraging (thinking of you), remembering a time you shared together, complimenting someone, or you could make up a list; “top 5 reasons why I’m glad you are my friend.” Get creative. The whole point is to let someone know you care about them and took the time to handwrite a note just for them.
