I love how this piece of linen was sewn to look like paper! And the loopy embroidered writing is so charming. For another very cool variation of lines falling off a piece of paper check this out.
I seriously want to do this with my kids. Problem is I am such a non-sewing type that I need help. So, here is a pretty good tutorial to help me out. Feel free to join the fun.
As many of you know I am a die hard Moleskin™ fan. So you can imagine my delight when I found this little shop on Etsy that will actually custom order a moleskin with your name on it! And those buttons completely have me drooling and… starting my Christmas list early!
Aren’t these cards cool? A little bit of a modern, hip twist to your average greeting card. And, I will admit right now, that I had to look up what “fo shizzy” meant. So, in the event your urban slang isn’t much better than mine here is a definition found in urban dictionary: “pronounced (foh’-sheez-e) a term widely used in substitution of yes, yeah, for sure, hell yeah, or any other English sentence insinuating a meaning equal to YES.”
Threads and letters both a bit of a lost art. Perhaps by combining the two we will see new life in both. May you find yourself inspired to try something new today.
Thanks Yo!
P.S. What would it take for you to write a letter?
Joy @ Yesterfood
These are great….I really like the “I think I love you” notebook paper! 🙂
I don’t write many letters anymore. A few to my parents, because they are not on any social media and they don’t text. We usually just talk on the phone, though.
I DO send hand-written thank you notes. 🙂
Your blog is lovely and delightfully unusual! 🙂
Barb
Hello Joy, What a lovely compliment – lovely and unusual! Love this. Thank you. Hand-written thank you notes are the best aren’t they. Who knows, maybe now, you will be inspired to go beyond! You have reminded me I need to call my parents… 🙂
Michelle
This is really cool! Sadly, I don’t write a lot of letters anymore. I say sadly because I think its becoming a lost art. I write to my husband’s aunt once a year at the holidays and I know she loves getting the letters. But other than that, I can’t remember the last time I wrote a letter.
Barb
Hi Michelle, It does seem that letter writing is becoming a lost art. I guess that’s why I blog about it in hopes it gets people thinking about it and what is it that makes it an art. Who knows, maybe you will write your Aunt before the holidays, just because she loves it. Crazier things have happened! 🙂 thanks for your visit.

Love the linen “paper.” As a writer, I have always loved pens, paper, pencils, erasers, notebooks. Your blog is really fun for me. So glad you visited mine so I could find yours.
Barb
Hi again Gail, lovely of you to explore my blog, I am thrilled to know you like what you found. I know I love this stuff and hope there are others out there that do too! I just found you on twitter and followed you. Lovely to meet you! Hope to talk again soon.

Oh my, all that embrodery makes me wish I had the craft gene where I could actually create beautiful things. Unfortunately, the pictures in my head and on the paper seldom look quite as pretty.
Barb
I know Jean. I feel the same way! Big dreams inside my head that should just stay there. Ha! Thanks for stopping by.
