what was in my mailbox this week
I’ve been thinking for awhile now that I should give you a kind of behind-the-scenes peek into what was in my mailbox this week.
First up is the Pretty Postal Floral Swap I recently participated in. I have to say the flowers were a-bloom’n!
nothing ‘plain-Jane’ here
Just look at the mail I received! Such creativity. Did you notice the ‘spool’ of washi tape in the card? Crazy amazing, that’s what. And those envelopes? Nothing ‘plain-Jane’ about them.
This floral diva is now pinned up in my office, keeping me company as I muck about.
Of course, to receive mail, one must send mail. Perhaps you have been debating giving it a try, but wondering how and where to start. I’ve compiled a list of some snail mail exchanges that may provide you with a good starting point.
doesn’t compare to text or email
Isn’t that handwriting beautiful? Not to mention the writing prompts (hidden from sight, behind the envelope) that encourage me to write down three things I’m grateful for each day.
This is the snail mail charm I speak of. I mean seriously, I can’t imagine anything as wonderful being received via text or email.
I invite you to send me a letter or a postcard at the address above, and who knows, maybe your mail will be featured in ‘what was in my mailbox this week‘ blog series.
p.s. Do you have a preference between snail mail or email?
Ramona
Beautiful, Barb! You are inspiring me to write more letters, and starting with the Attawapiskat youth. 🙂
Barb
So happy to hear this Ramona! Thank you for your encouraging words. I do hope the youth of Attawapiskat receive our letters and know people care about them.

Thanks for starting to share what’s in your mailbox each week! I also participated in the Pretty Postal Swap. The first time I’ve done anything like this. Now I am completely hooked, and waiting patiently for the next one! It’s pretty exciting finding a lovely surprise mixed among the bills and junk mail. LOVE your blog and all the awesome things you share.
Barb
Hi there Lori, I didn’t know you too participated! Maybe next time we will get paired up, wouldn’t that be fun. I don’t do too many, but I do so love them when I do participate. Thanks for your support on social media and encouraging words about my ‘blogging habit.’ Thanks for reading. 😉
Sydney
I’m with you Barb….nothing replaces the charm of a card, handwritten from the heart. It could be one word or a line that makes our hearts swell with love, hope and joy knowing we are thought of.
Barb
Props to that Sydney! 🙂
