what was in my mailbox this week. No.9
Nothing like receiving a piece of real mail in the mailbox. Am I right?
If you have been following along here for a bit you will be familiar with the series “What was in my mailbox.”
This orange envelope with my address, written with her typewriter, was sent by my friend Jennifer. Tell me those vintage stamps aren’t beautiful! Jennifer and I both live in Calgary and see each other at my letter writing socials.
a letter can brighten someone’s day
Simone from the USA has the most beautiful penmanship around. And the stationery, with matching envelope was absolutely charming. Thank you for making my day a little brighter with your colourful, cheery paper.
Italian paper goods
Some of you may know that I have a ‘thing’ for Italy. Having been there only once, it is without a doubt, a place I need to return to. Did you know that you can send a postcard from the Vatican?
Jill and I have exchanged a few letters now and each time she ‘wows’ me with the lovely Venetian paper goods. These sticky notes of postbox and of air mail envelope are simply darling.
to write a letter is to be mindful
This gold foil card is stunning. In her card Ann writes, “letter writing is the ultimate in practicing mindfulness for me. I require quiet and focus to effectively put pen to paper.” May you and I both be inspired by Ann’s words to carve out some quiet time and write a letter.
get creative with your mail
I so appreciate Katherine. She is such a creative, artistic and encouraging person. This envelope is amazing. Made from a calendar or magazine she has crafted it so that the signposts of some of our Canadian provinces are front and central. I wish Alberta wasn’t 3471 km away!
Cleveland Letter Writers Club
Another friend from the USA, Deanna hosts a letter writing club in Cleveland, Ohio. Clearly a kindred spirit. If you are in her area you should definitely check out the CLE Letter Writers Club.
Thanks to all who make the time to correspond with me. Should you be looking for a pen pal or someone to write, have a look at my snail mail exchanges list.
Is there someone you have exchanged mail with for many years? I would love to hear your story.
