I’ve fallen hard for my new home town of Port Hope, Ontario, Canada, I mean, how could I not with its historic downtown and the many beautiful century homes?
Today on the blog I welcome you to view the ‘mailboxes of Port Hope’ gallery. I have a sneaking suspicion it is the first of a few such gallery posts as I’ve only just arrived.
Did you notice the two little decorative doggies welcoming all incoming mail at number nine?
Above and below photos show this creative and clever homemade mailbox. Toolbox and wrench. Genius.
I particularly like the wrench as the ‘flag’ on the mailbox. Fun fact: the flag on a mailbox is called a carrier flag and when up it means there is outgoing mail to be picked up.
I call this house the pastel house. Perfect for Spring. This sage green mailbox is a gem.
Regal this one. I imagine very important mail being delivered to this box.
Honestly I swoon every time I walk past this house. Such style. And the mailbox is no exception.
Tell me, which mailbox do you like best?
Stay tuned for the next edition of ‘Mailboxes in Port Hope.’

Port Hope is really a beautiful name for the place one lives in.

I agree 100%! 🙂

Honestly, I like them all, but that last copper envelope has to be my favourite. Very elegant and what a treat to open it to see what’s inside! I hope you love your new home.

Hi Ana, apologies for way delayed response to your lovely comment here. I adore that copper mailbox too!! In New Year I will have to do another post on more mailboxes of Port Hope. Thank you for viewing. I hope you are well.

I’ve never been to Port Hope but my ancestors came from there (via England) before homesteading in the west. Having seen your photos, now I want to visit!

How super interesting! You must come one day. It is a charming little town with lots going on. Some compare to a Hallmark movie setting, especially over the holiday. So sorry I didn’t see and respond to this comment earlier.
