MakeItMerry 2016 — Christmas cards for the homeless
Last November I had an idea. An idea about sending Christmas cards to the homeless. I called it “MakeItMerry,” and thanks to you dear readers, over 1200 cards arrived for the largest homeless shelter in Calgary. Cards came from all over Canada, some as far away as the UK and USA. It was unbelievable.
Fast forward 12 months later, I am more than excited to share the MakeItMerry is now a non-profit organization serving three homeless shelters with the goal of distributing 2000 cards this year!
How to get involved
Officially we launch November 1st, but I wanted to let you in on the project a couple of days early, because you were part of it from the very beginning. Once that page on your calendar flips over to November, go crazy and share MakeItMerry on your Facebook page, talk it up with the teachers at the school, tweet about it using #MakeItMerry.
But most importantly, I’m counting on you to rally your friends, family, book clubs, church group, the school your kids attend, hockey teams, and send a card. Don’t doubt the impact of your card, it has the power to move hearts. Read some real life stories on how much the cards meant to people last year.
Thank you!
