Inside Scoop at Moleskine®
Given that Milan, Italy is the global headquarters for one of my favorite paper companies AND I was in Milan recently, it just wouldn’t have been right for me NOT to visit. I know, call me crazy!
My new friends at the Moleskine® were so gracious to this self admitted paper junkie and arranged a meeting and a tour of their office. I was in paper heaven.
Meet the new Voyageur journal
Federica showed me around the office that houses the Branding, Design, Marketing, and Sales teams. Production of the actual journals are not done on site but rather at suppliers all over the world.
But this office, with it’s open concept, lots of lights, bright colours and a ‘loft’ feel, is clearly the hub of creativity, where all new products are born.
I visited at a perfect time as a brand new journal, the Voyageur, had just been launched. Not to mention that I was on vacation and this journal is all about chronicling your vacation.
Packing list and pockets for your treasures
This is not your average journal; there are several ways to integrate with the digital world.
Sharing of pictures using the #M_IAMHERE hashtag on social media opens up a larger global community and Moleskine® provides many extra features like packing lists and pocket templates that you can insert into the journal.
Watch out, you might catch the travel bug
If you don’t have the travel bug after watching this video you have more will power than most. It is infectious. It sure made me miss Italy, that’s for sure.
Moleskine® is running a fun contest right now where you could win some really great paper swag. Submit your vacation photos by August 31st and have a chance to win a Moleskine® travel kit. Details here.
Where did you go on vacation this summer?
P.S. A big ‘Grazie’ to Federica and Valeria for inviting me to visit Moleskine® and for permission to use these photos.
Naomi
I am embarrassed to admit that I thought Moleskine was an English company.
Barb
Hi there Naomi, No need to be embarrassed, it’s often a mystery where these things start. In fact, I believe if memory serves correctly (which is no guarantee with me) that Moleskine began in France but then folded. It started up again in Italy. No matter, those journals could come from anywhere and I would love them! Thanks for having a read.
