Washable paper bags
Of course we all know paper, in its very basic form, is used for writing or drawing, but what about when it is turned into something completely different?
That is exactly what the Italian company Le Sorelle did. A family run business based in Lucca, in the Tuscan region of Italy, is named after the four sisters – le sorelle.
Paper is never plain
What this family did to paper is almost magical. It is washable and very similar to leather. Washable! I know, that is some kind of crazy.
I was fortunate enough to visit this store last summer and fell in love right away with their paper products. As you can see I am currently using my paper bag for a plant. But when I kill it (and I will) I will put my stationery supplies in it.
You don’t have to travel as far as Italy to find these paper products (but I would highly recommend it — the gelato is to die for ). Check here for a store near you.
What would you put in this bag?
P.S. One of my favorite kids books is The Paper Bag Princess by Robert Munsch. Every girl, whether young or older should read this fantastic, inspiring story. Ok, gotta run, have a great day….

This is amazing! I could have used this during the week when I was planting cress seeds with Year 1 kids. It would have kept the water contained instead of going everywhere! I wouldn’t mind heading over to Italy to get one. 🙂

Hi there Rebecca, What a fantastic idea for the bags! The kids would have thought that was pretty awesome too, I bet. And, yes, they seem to be all the better when found in Italy. 🙂 Thanks for your visit.

Washable paper?! Loving the idea and I think it looks great with your plant in it, long may it survive! Thanks for sharing with #PaperyPeep
