Jack o’ Lantern
Paper lanterns seem to be everywhere these days. Too much of a good thing and it quickly becomes passé. Artist Gaëlle Boissonnard has the most magical illustrations that captures everything from a new and fresh perspective.
As the discussion around our table turns to Halloween and costumes, and who is to old to go out trick or treating, I was reminded that the traditional jack o’ lantern is the classic fall lantern.
Bu or Boo
I have to admit that if I had to choose between the festivities that the month of October brings, Thanksgiving (for those of us in Canada) or Halloween I would choose Thanksgiving hands down. And, that’s probably why I really liked these paper bag lanterns with the leaves, although those bats are pretty cute too. For a great photo tutorial on how to make these yourself pay a visit to Rebecca’s DIY blog.
I couldn’t decide which of Ms. Boissonnard’s cards I liked best so I bought both. Don’t you just love this bouquet of lanterns in the sky? Where they might float away to remains a mystery.
Do you carve a pumpkin for Halloween? Scary face or happy face?
Rosey
I like cute on Halloween, not scary. 🙂

Hi Rosey, Me too, but my kids like to think otherwise. I actually was toying with the idea of not carving but making it a glow in the dark pumpkin instead. (slather with glue and then dump on glow in the dark sparkles). Time will tell. Thanks for stopping in.
