Disney’s ‘PaperMan’ is a clever black and white animated short film directed by Jon Kahrs. It won an Oscar in the Short Film (Animated) category last year, in 2013. I don’t know how I missed seeing it until now, but I just love it.
Whisked Away
I love the back story (view it here) as to what inspired the project in the first place. You know the feeling, you are on the Subway, you see someone and for one lingering moment they see you too. And, then like the wind, they are whisked away via the Tube towards their final destination.
So, may you take inspiration from this little clip, and seize the moment before you today, ‘rite’ now and do it. Whatever IT is. Don’t waste a second, as it too may be whisked away before your eyes.
How did you meet your sweetie? Any paper involved?
P.S. For some other paper plane ideas to put into play you may enjoy “Paper is anything but Plane.”

My daughter sent me the same clip. It’s brilliant!
Thanks for reminding me about it and for another viewing.
Waving from a chilly Bonnie Scotland ;D

Isn’t that video something?! I loved it too Nessie, so glad you and your daughter both got to enjoy. Waving right back from Canada! Love that all the way in Scotland you found my blog. Hope you come back another time for a visit.

I absolutely loved this short film! I must admit that I’ve now watched it a couple of times over, and each time have caught myself smiling. It reminds us to take a chance, even if it’s impractical or seems silly, because the end result might be something great. What is the expression…Pearls don’t lie on the seashore. If you want one, you must dive for it. Or, in this case, you must make a paper airplane and fly it. Thanks for the uplifting post Barb!

Hello there Jenn, So funny that you have watched this short film 2x! I have lost track of how many times I have played it. That expression about diving for a pearl is a nugget of wisdom all on it’s own. Thanks for sharing it here and stopping in for a visit. Glad you enjoyed the Paperman post.
