Frank Warren is a collector of secrets. Since 2004 Frank has been the keeper of over half a million highly personal, some times artfully submitted secrets on postcards. The site Post Secret is the portal for all such anonymous confessions.
Reveal anything
Mr. Secret Man (hope you like the nickname Frank), shares his reflections and insights on the sharing of secrets in person at a variety of speaking engagements. In fact he is coming to Toronto, ON, Canada on May 28th but the event is sold out. Scalpers?
Here is what the original postcards Frank randomly handed out to people on the street looked like. As part of an art project, people soon began creating their own postcards… even using part of a Starbucks® cup.
Psst, got a secret?
It would seem the success of Post Secret has something to do with the anonymity of it all. It is almost like it unleashes this freedom to speak in a voice otherwise not heard.
Secrets that are mailed in are posted online every Sunday. In the event you want to share a secret, put it on a postcard, and mail it to:
Post Secret, 13345 Copper Ridge Road, Germantown, Maryland, 20874
Clearly this project has resonated with thousands of people. I’ve been thinking a bit about this phenomenon lately. I can’t help but wonder why the concept of honesty as a whole seems to get buried by we as a people. We guard our secrets close to our chest rather than speak/confess with honesty to one another. This troubles me. Still thinking.
Where do you weigh in on the topic? The more secrets on postcards the better?

I weigh in with you Barb…I like honesty, transparency, with a trusted friend. The best friend of all, Jesus, wants to hear it…and He has the answers too 🙂

So hard to be completely honest with ourselves most of all. Thanks for the encouraging words for all Sydney.
