Global sunshine
I am in need of some sunshine. And given the current crazy cold temps and massive amounts of snow in many areas in North America I am probably not the only one.
This picture below, taken by my friend Stephanie (and my previous pilates instructor when I lived closer), shows just how much snow areas in Southern Ontario, Canada, have been receiving this week.
Swap it
Aside from hopping on a plane, I am not going any where warm any time soon. Enter Swap-bot. Swap-bot is a free service that allows you to swap mail with people. The choice of who/where/what type of mail you want to swap is up to you.
Mail to melt
I signed up last year just to see what it was all about. This time I am going to be participating in international postcard swap. What intrigued me about this one, because like you I don’t have a lot of dead time just floating around looking for a purpose, was that the postcards are to be made from…recycled Christmas cards!
So, why not chase those frigid cold winds and snow squalls away by sending some warmth in the mail? Make sure to sweep out all that snow from your mail box first!
Do you go anywhere sunny during the winter?
P.S. For other creative ideas on what to do with those Christmas cards visit my previous post.
Morgan
So fun to hear about these great options to have more connection via the mail! I am thankful to be living in a sunnier place with seeing all the snow in other parts!
Barb
Hey there Morgan, Yes, the snow looks pretty good from far away! 🙂 I actually love winter but it can seem long. Thanks for taking the time to stop over.

Swap-bot? I’m so glad to hear about this snail mail group! I have been looking for a place to find pen pals.
And I absolutely LOVE that fabric.
Stopping by from the “Pin It Party” #13!

Hi Dee, So glad to have introduced you to Swap-bot. I just wrote my postcards recycled from Christmas cards today for the swap I mentioned in this post. Isn’t that fabric grand! Thank you so much for stopping in for a visit.
Sarah Mueller
What a great idea! I knew I had saved those cards for a good reason! I’d love for you to link this up at Family Fun Friday over at my site.
Barb
Hi Sarah, don’t you love finding out about something you can do BEFORE you throw them out? I often hear about things AFTER the garbage toss. 🙂 Would love to hop over and link up to your site. Thanks for the invite.
Sara
What a fun idea!
I hope you get a chance to hop over and share with us at Tell Me About It Tuesday.
