At this very moment, what are you doing?
Sounds I hear at this moment:
*the boy band “One Direction” playing somewhere in the house
*banging of construction across the street
*voices of two of my kids discussing school supplies
*oven timer is going off (tried some weird apple walnut loaf – can’t say it looked very appetizing)
Smells at this moment:
*it is garbage day today so that is a good thing
*that loaf smells better than it looks!
*got a whiff of some perfume or product one of the girls put on
*if I opened the front door I could smell lavendar that I planted up the walkway
Tastes I hope to savor in just a moment:
*my official stand by summer lunch consists of sliced tomatoes, a good mozeralla cheese, fresh basil leaves, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, sea salt
*blueberries inhaled in a bear-like way
So, whatcha doin? Share the first thing that comes to your mind – and “reading your blog” doesn’t count! 🙂

Lunch sounds delicious! And my loaves usually taste and smell better than they look too. :/ oh well. Stop by my Friday’s Five Features and link up this post (and others)! http://diy-vintage-chic.blogspot.com/2013/08/fridays-five-features-no-3.html

Hi Becca, thanks for your visit. Yes, the lunch was yummy (had it again today as a matter of fact). But, the loaf met it’s end fairly abruptly as much as it pained me to throw it out. On to the next experiment! 🙂

How fun. I can see how doing this would cause you to slow down and really be in the moment.
Barb
Hi Shana, Sometimes I definitely need to slow down and writing a letter (with a good cup of tea) does the trick. Hope you try it out. Thanks for stopping by.
Noreen
I was just thinking how few people write anything by hand anymore, and it will soon be a lost art. And a loss to the world, I think. I love reading things written by hand – especially when they are written by someone who is not longer here.
Barb
Hi Noreen, thanks for your visit. I couldn’t agree more about the potential loss to the world. You may want to check out Stuffinenvelopes.com as they will send you a letter for FREE! It is the topic of my post today (aug 9).
Vanessa
Currently listening to the sounds of a dryer, whirling my clothes around before we leave yet another place and move on to the next.
Sounds of “I’m hungry” are also filling my ears. As usual.
I’m inhaling (in a rather unladylike fashion) some chili cheese curly fries that I threw together with the food we had leftover in the house that we’re house sitting at the moment.
Thinking about all the things we need to get done, all that could go wrong or fall through (trying to buy a house next week!) and seeking peace and rest in the midst of it.
My head hurts.
And my chili cheese fries are calling my name. 🙂
Barb
Yummmmy, chili cheese fries! How could they not be inhaled. Any other way jeopardize the taste experience I think. May you find the peace and rest you need to get through this crazy moving time. And soon you will have a less crazy day to enjoy in your new home….hopefully with yummy chili fries too. Thanks for sharing your day with us Vanessa.

Sitting and watching the boys at an indoor playground on a rainy day – surrounded by running, screaming children and smells of sanitizer, sweaty kids and funky feet all blended into one glorious scent!
Barb
Ahh, I have a complete visual on this! Eeek….hope it was worth it? 🙂
