Request a private Letter Writing Social
This week I co-hosted a very special Letter Writing Social at Feast Letterpress studio. The typewriters and the 1920 letterpress provided all who attended a wonderful analog experience.
Word spread about this magical evening as even a TV crew even showed up to film it. More on that later.
Letterpress used to create stationery
In the photo above is Ian of Feast Letterpress showing Patrick how to operate the press. All of the movement is manual and timing is everything.
Participants used the letterpress to create their stationery that they then used on the typewriter to write a letter.
April is the last month this season for cafe Letter Writing Socials
As the weather turns to warmer temperatures we Calgary folk like to soak up as much sunny outdoor time as possible and as such the Letter Writing Socials come to a close, temporarily, for the summer season. The last few dates include: March 20, April 11 and April 24th.
However, it is the perfect time to book your very own private Letter Writing Social. More details below.
Letterpress glory
The creative space that Jessica and Ian of Feast Letterpress have fostered in their studio is beautiful.
It is filled with beautiful paper, samples of letterpress pieces they have created, type, and other tools of the trade. Plus, the window light is incredible. I can’t wait to order my custom stationery.
Book your custom Letter Writing Social
If you have an occasion this summer that you want to celebrate in a unique way a Letter Writing Social may be just the thing. Consider booking your custom Letter Writing Social for a bridal party, a special birthday, or book club night out.
I am booking dates for June and July now so please be in touch for details. I would love to bring the vintage typewriters and introduce you and your guests to the charm of snail mail.
Feature on Breakfast Television coming soon
You will notice the pattern in light blue colour on the edge of the envelope and below the typewriter font in the photo above. This was what was created with the letterpress. I just love the design.
A film crew from Breakfast Television came and hung out with us for a bit and captured the evening. I can’t wait to hear all the typewriters in action in the segment. It is to be aired on March 25 at 7:50 am MST (subject to change).
