Send away for a special Valentine’s Postmark
If you send for it now, you will most certainly impress your Valentine on February 14th like never before.
There are places in Canada with very romantic names. Take for example, “Love, Saskatchewan” or “Heart’s Content in Newfoundland.” Although we can’t all go and celebrate Valentine’s Day in these swoon-worthy spots, we can send away for their sweet postmarks.
How do you send someone mail with a Valentine’s postmark?
1)Simply write your card or letter, seal it, and place in an envelope with their address on it and a postage stamp. Don’t forget to put the stamp on it or else your sweetie will be left wanting.
2) Decide which Canadian town with a romantic name you want your special someone to have a postmark from.
3) Put your valentine inside another envelope addressed to the Post Master of the location you picked. Put a postage stamp on this envelope too.
4) The Post Master will kindly forward your card to your special someone after applying the beautiful postmark.
Send Valentine’s to your kids too
This year I sent Valentine’s to both my daughters who are away at University this way. I picked “Saint-Valentin, Quebec” and “Love, Saskatchewan” as my choice for postmarks.
Apparently one of my girls has a wall in her room for snail mail from Mom. I must not disappoint and so I send them mail quite regularly. Not that I need an excuse!
I highly recommend sending yourself some Valentine’s mail with these postmarks. A couple of years ago (pics shown here) I sent myself one from each location. They are just so darn beautiful.
Do you think my girls will even notice the special post marks?
p.s. if you are in the USA there are many places that will also do Valentine’s re-mailing.
