Stationery store letter writing workshop
There is a new stationery store in town. It’s a dangerous place for me, a stationery shop loaded with paper products that dreams are made of.
Yup, very easy for me to go bankrupt in such a store.
Two new letter writing workshops
These photos were taken early December 2017 when Recess opened, so products vary and there are many more additions including fountain pens and Blackwing pencils (my fav).
But wait. There’s more exciting news. I’m partnering with Recess to host two letter writing workshops. One for kids on April 20th. And one for adults on April 28th.
Kids letter writing workshop Friday April 20th
The kids only workshop is on a PD day (you’re welcome parents) and will begin at 11am. A letter writing kit will go home with the kids filled with some delightful things from Recess. See a sample and register for the event here.
Letter writing workshop for adults on Saturday April 28th
As with the kids event, I’ll be bringing my typewriters on Saturday, April 28th to the adult workshop. It will run from 10:30am-12:30pm.
Included in your morning will be a take-away ‘swag bag’ (to die for) of product from Recess PLUS a guide to letter writing ideas. Sign up here.
Space is limited to 10 people per letter writing workshop
For those of you local to Calgary and have been to Plant in Inglewood you will notice some similarities to Recess. That would be because they are both designed and run by by Kyle Chow.
Space is limited to 10 people for both of these workshops, so don’t delay in signing up.
Do you have a favorite stationery store where you live?

Oh if only I were closer to you. Recess looks like my kind of shop. Stationery shops are always something I seek to visit when I travel. I’ve yet to find the right search word to get to shops such as Recess. For your readers who may be traveling to the Denver/Boulder Colorado area, I’ll make it a little easier. Meininger Art Supply has both Denver and Boulder locations – main focus is art supplies but they have interesting pens (fine pens at the Denver location) & Two Hands Paperie in Boulder. Fine pens, Travelers journals, stationery and a wide and eclectic selection of boxed and individual cards.

Melanie, you have no idea how much you would love this store! Seriously amazing. Thank you for suggesting these two shops near you. I would love to go there. One day.
