Do you send Christmas cards? Not the e-card, the Christmas gif over text or the latest tik tok video. I mean the real deal paper, requires-a-postage-stamp kind of Christmas card. Do you send those?
According to the Canada Post Christmas mail schedule, it is time to send Christmas cards. The USPS schedule is similar. Starting early is my number one tip on how to send Christmas cards without yanking out your hair. Here are some more of my tips that make sending Christmas cards easy.
Some of my favorite Christmas cards
It will come as no surprise to you that I am all about old-school Christmas cards. I usually do a photo card of the family, including the blooper pics. This year I ordered through Minted. As two of the kids are getting older and no longer living at home full time, I fear the longevity of the family photo card is quickly dwindling.
I also love cards by Jill Weston, LittleMayPapery, WrinkleandCreaseand for custom options cards, haute note is fabulous.
time to send Christmas cards
In the spirit of the season, christmas cards aren’t just for individuals. There are compelling reasons why a business should send Christmas cards too.
No matter who we are, I’m betting that all of us love getting a Christmas card in the mailbox, so why not delight someone this year by sending one of your own?

Excellent tips on getting those cards out. Sending Christmas cards is one of my favorite things about the holiday. As Barb said, organization is key, start early, and stock up on stamps. Here in the U.S., Christmas stamps go on sale in October, so I had my husband pick up three books. I have a typed Christmas card list, with room where I can check off who I sent a card to, and who we get a card from. December is my favorite month to go to my mailbox.
Merry Christmas to all!

Hi Roseanne, thank you so much for reading this post and for sharing these additional great tips. I love your idea of card list, this is something I always mean to do, but never seem to get to. Maybe this year will be the year. Aren’t Christmas stamps beautiful! I like to use vintage ones and make up the postage. Never was there a better month to go to the mailbox, I completely agree 🙂

I love to send Christmas cards. My list grows every year. Each time I think I don’t need to send one to someone who I haven’t talked to in a long time, I think this is the one time that I stay in touch so they stay on my list. Looking forward to another visit to Union Station in Denver Colorado with my mom and sister and brother-in-law to sit and write our cards there. They have a gigantic Christmas tree up and everything is very festive. There are big tables to sit at and people show up to do their meetings or sit and work. There are restaurants and shops also in the station. It’s a lot of fun and activity.

Melanie, as you know I just adore the story of you and family making the traditional trip by train to Denver Union Station to write your cards there. I would love to share more about that here on the blog, should you feel so inclined? Maybe snap some extra pics and we can talk details. I wish I could come! Thank you for taking the time to let us know about this fabulous idea.

Meeting with a Student Organization member to send Christmas cards to deployed military personnel. I am donating my stash of cards for their use since I plan on sending Christmas postcards this year.

Kari, Christmas postcards! Brilliant. Easy, no envelopes, yet beautiful way to send a handwritten holiday wish. Just love it. Plus this idea of sending cards to deployed military personnel…so amazing. I can only imagine how meaningful this would be for them to receive. Thank you for sharing these great ideas. xoxo
