Just follow the chorus of the tap, tap, zzzzzzzip, ding and you could easily find the typing class at your local highschool.
Admittedly this ages those of us who actually participated in an ‘Introduction to Typing’ class back in the day, but honestly, I’m pretty jazzed that I can actually type.
Typewriter lending library
In case you’ve missed it, typewriters are having a bit of a moment right now. A typewriter class would be well attended these days as so many are on the hunt for a typewriter and want to know how to use them.
I love the idea of having a typewriter lending library like Santa Barbara Public Typewriters runs. Can’t imagine the upkeep of the machines that would be required, but the concept is awesome.
Parts of the typewriter
Aren’t these pages from a vintage typing course manual amazing?!
All the components of the typewriter defined is very handy–the ribbon spool crank was a new term for me.
Learn to type online
Missed out on learning to type? You don’t need a typewriter to learn to type on your keyboard from home. Not a bad way to spend some time during Covid.
Did you take a typing class in school? Do you wish you did?
Melanie
I love those old clipboards as much as the typewritten lists.
Barb
Same. Was thinking this exactly.
