Envelopes are all about what’s inside
One of the things I love about receiving mail is the envelope. I like to guess who it is from as I examine the handwriting.
Perhaps there are doodles on it. Maybe there is something unique about it in the colour or texture.
Regardless, there is only one quick rip between me and the goodness inside.
Paper can be hard to part with
It would seem that I am amassing a bit of a collection of paper and stationery from this blogging habit of mine. Of course, I wouldn’t have it any other way, but there comes a point when a girl has to cut some loose.
Case in point is a publication I subscribe to by Mohawk Paper Company. After I read it I keep it because the quality of paper is bar none and the images are beautiful.
Make your own
And so, I decided to share it. In the form of envelopes.
It is really simple. I just took apart an old envelope, laid it flat, traced it on the paper and bingo! I had myself an envelope. If you want to get a bit more exact and fancier, Lindsey from The Postmans Knock has great step-by-step directions.
What is the best thing that you have ever received in an envelope?

I love this idea! Thanks so much for sharing with Small Victories Sunday. Those envelopes are gorgeous and I would have a hard time parting with the paper too!

Hi Tanya, I am enjoying your Sunday linkup, a great venue for sharing and I appreciate the opportunity. So glad you like the envelopes; I plan to make a stash and use them frequently. Thanks for the ‘twitter’ love too. xoxo.

this is such a great idea!
I can’t believe I never thought to make my own envelopes from the stacks
of scrapbooking paper I’ve stashed away.
I’m totally inspired Barb, I think I even have a cartridge for my Cricut to cut different size envelopes.
Thanks for sharing!!
Enjoy your week!

Hi Maria, So glad you found some inspiration on the blog today. Happy cutting and folding! Thanks for visiting.

Definitely a love letter is the best thing I’ve received in an envelope. Next is letters from my children. Next is a big check :-).
Barb
Ah, yes, a love letter. Can’t get much better than that. I love when little things fall out of an envelope. For example, I’ve received some where confetti fall out or sticks of gum. So fun. Hope this week brings you an envelope filled with a letter from your kids or a big juicy cheque! Thanks for your comment Elizabeth.
