Nostalgic Christmas
Aren’t these cards (all from various Pinterest boards) amazing! It’s like taking a trip into the past. In fact, I think that the holiday season is a time where we tend to do just that.
Here are some of my favorite Christmas memories growing up:
* Stringing popcorn and cranberry garlands. Not so much the stringing part – think red stained fingers and a big time commitment – but they sure looked grand on the tree.
* Going out in the bush to cut down the tree, only to get it home and realize it resembled a ‘Charlie Brown’ tree!
* Crawling under said Christmas tree, when the lights were on, and looking up. I think I actually fell asleep there once.
More memories
* Opening one gift on Christmas eve.
* Carrot pudding with caramel sauce . This recipe comes very close to what my mom makes.
* Shaking the gifts and trying to guess the content; much to the annoyance of the givers.
* Candlelight service at church.
What are some of your ‘vintage’ memories of Christmas’s past? How have you incorporated them into your holiday traditions today?

Hi Joanne, So happy you stopped by for a visit. So many traditions of celebrating Christmas out there. If truth be told, I secretly still try to guess whats inside the packages! 🙂 Merry Christmas to you. Thank you for taking the time to comment.
