…if you can part with them.
Exploration leads to discovery
I found these at a little vintage shop, Pretty Little Things in the neighborhood of Calgary called Inglewood. This area of Calgary is one of my favorite haunts to date. And, it would seem I am not alone in my fondness for the place as Inglewood was recently named Canada’s greatest neighbourhood.
Photos as postcards
Of course, when I came across these, I actually thought they were postcards, but upon closer inspection realized they were a series of souvenir photos from L’Abbaye de Liguge in France. What I don’t know is what year they are from. Any guesses?
What makes a great library?
To me, this last photo, the one with the woman in a library, is the best. Just look at all those books! Did you see the chest of drawers off to the left that, I would imagine, houses the index cards? You can almost smell the musty pages.
In any event, I can’t keep everything I find, so I will be sending these off in the post as miniature postcards. Let me know if you want one. Seriously. I would love to send you one.
Do you have a favorite library? What makes it so?

Love this idea! As a vintage postcard collector, I am always pinning old postcard images on Pinterest in case I want to use them as cards one day. You’ve given me inspiration to put them into action!

Lisa, I need to hear more about your vintage postcard collection? Sounds so fascinating. I just popped over to your Pinterest, you will have to let me know where you hide all the postcard pins. I popped a few in the mail myself today. Thanks for your ‘hello.’
