What’s in my mailbox. No. 12.
A mailbox is at its best when it is full. Nothing more delightful than opening up that miniature door and seeing a letter addressed to you.
From time to time I share a glimpse of what is in my mailbox, a part of an ongoing series.
National Letter Writing Month ends April 30th.
This postcard above was made by Rhonda in Manitoba. I too love the ink stamp images she used. So vintage. I was thrilled to receive the postcard as part of her National Letter Writing Month efforts. Thank you.
Unique postage cancel mark charms
As I looked over the rest of my recent mail I noticed a ‘French’ theme.
This postcard above is from Michele at Justalillost and was part of her Paris Month event (so fun) and depicts the Eiffel Tower painted in oil by Georges Seurat 1889.
It even has the postage cancel mark from Toronto’s First Post Office (one of my favorite spots in Toronto). I wonder if Michele mailed it while participating in the Toronto Letter Writers Society letter writing socials?
Snail mail documents historical events
This poignant piece of mail, from Janet in Calgary, illustrates how snail mail documents current events and is of historic value. The awful event of the Notre Dame burning will not soon leave our memories.
Name tags as address labels. Brilliant.
I love how Katherine uses name tags for address labels!
Living in Montreal, Katherine and I have corresponded for some time now and I never cease to be amazed at her creativity and artistic abilities. Visit my Facebook page for another look at what was inside this handmade envelope.
Kari
Thank you for providing another reason for me to hoard goodies other than hand sanitizer and waxy lip balm, from conferences and seminars: name tags! Ohhhh and another reason to go to Office Max/Depot, 😆
Barb
Ha! You make me smile Kari. Glad I could help. 😉
