Sweet Mail
Ok, seriously, how did the fine folks over at Chocolove chocolate find me out? The fact that they combined two of my favorite things – letter writing and chocolate had me swooning from the get go.
For me, it was as much about the packaging as it was the chocolate. Not only did the chocolate come in wrapping that resembled an envelope but, “the package design would resemble a love letter sent from a distant land, and inside each wrapper – a classic romantic poem.” Oh my heart.
Poetry never tasted better
So began my quest to find these treats. My search led me to Cambrian Pharmacy, Calgary — the only store in my fair city to carry this brand. I was not disappointed, the charming staff were most helpful, and recommended their favorites for me to try. And try I did.
As I was taking these pictures I was sampling. I tried the smaller 37 g Almonds and Sea Salt in Dark Chocolate bar. Pause. Ok, I’m finished eating now.
I can’t decide which I like best, the chocolate or the poem inside.
Have you received anything good in the mail lately?

How cool is that, and I bet it wouldn’t be too hard to make your own versions to wrap chocolate bars with on the computer. Perfect for valentines day or anniversaries and personalised with your favourite poems or quotes. Kind of like a fortune cookie but even nicer – lovely! I am surprised that you can’t choose between the chocolate or the poem as your favourite bit though, I love a good poem but chocolate after a difficult day, with a cup of tea, is hard to beat!

Hi there Julie, Love your idea about making your own wrap with quotes or poems – “a killer fortune cookie” indeed! Ok, so now you’ve got me wanting tea and chocolate….gotta run…see ya next time. 🙂

This is great packaging! I love reading the Dove wrapper messages, and this is even better.
Barb
That packaging is almost better than the chocolate….almost! I didn’t know Dove had similar messages, thanks for the tip Nicki and for stopping by too. Lovely to meet you.

These chocolates are so inventive! It’s like the chocolate bar on Charlie And THe Chocolate Factory! “I found a golden ticket!” I wonder how they did find you? So much fun. You could make a DIY project and get some 5×7 frames from a thrift store and put the wrappers inside them!
THanks for sharing!

It’s funny that you should mention Charlie and The Chocolate Factory Dawn, I thought the same thing when I first came across these treats. Not sure how they found me, but it is a dangerous thing! Super idea about thrifty a frame and putting wrapper inside. I guess I will have to eat them all, after all. hee, hee. Thanks so much for stopping in for a chat.
